For the last five years, the Calgary Stampede and the Olds Agricultural Society have co-operated to stage a mega youth livestock show.
Youngsters 21 years of age and under are invited to Summer Synergy to show, learn marketing techniques, groom and judge animals. The rewards are thousands of dollars worth of scholarships and other prizes. The winners from the beef, dairy, sheep and horse shows attend the Stampede for the last two days for a grand finale to meet the public and display the championship livestock.
On July 9, the first round of shows were held at Olds, and winners of the purebred and commercial beef shows were named.
