Cheese imported from Scotland is being recalled due to possible listeria contamination.

Inverloch Cheddar Cheese was imported by Glen Echo Fine Foods and distributed in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Recalled products include Laird’s Mustard Mature Cheddar & Whole Grain Mustard and Applesmoke Mature Cheddar, both with the brand name Isle of Kintyre.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said in a news release that the products should be thrown out or returned to place of purchase.

The CFIA said the recall was triggered by Glen Echo Fine Foods. There have been no reported illnesses in connection with the cheese.

Food contaminated with listeria monocytogenes may look fine but can cause vomiting, nausea, fever, muscle aches, severe headache and muscle stiffness.
