A Saskatchewan ranch recently came away with the top selling brood mare at the Montana Breeders Group sale.
Hopscotch Mattie, consigned by the Haight Ranch of Hanley, Sask., sold for $2,200 to Robert Liva of Butte, Montana.
The 12th annual show was held Sept. 6 in Great Falls, Montana.
The high selling horse of the show was Pics Powder Lug, which was bought by Dennis Voss of Two Dot, Montana. The animal was consigned by Thad Hereim of White Sulphur Springs, Montana.
Another Canadian winner was the high selling two-to-three-year-old prospect was RV Hang Em High, owned by Rangeview Ranch of Cardston, Alta. It was bought for $4,300 by Myrle Gollaher of Cascade, Montana.
The high selling yearling was CCR Leroys R Profit owned by Cleveland Creek Ranch of Chinook, Montana. It sold to Jim Realbird of Garryowen, Montana, for $3,400.
More 600 people attended the event.
