Sask. man injured in crop input service centre

Saskatchewan RCMP and provincial Occupational Health and Safety officials are investigating after an employee was injured at a Crop Production Services facility outside of Elstow, Sask., today.

According to RCMP, a 59-year-old man was injured this morning while working at the facility on HIghway 16.

The individual — a seven-year employee of CPS, according to a media release — was tending to a conveyor belt, which was unloading fertilizer from a rail car, when one of his arms was caught up in the belt.

Emergency services personnel attended the scene and transported the man to hospital in Saskatoon.
