Sixty-three percent of the fall rye, 59 percent of the winter wheat, 40 percent of the field peas, 34 percent of the lentils and 14 percent of the chickpeas were in the bin as of Aug. 17. Three percent of the canola and four percent of the mustard were harvested, with 14 percent of the canola and 21 percent of the mustard swathed or ready to straight cut. Warm and relatively dry conditions helped crops develop quickly in many areas, according to the report.
