Canadian Automobile Association members have voted, and the list is in for Saskatchewan’s worst roads.
They have picked a new highway as Saskatchewan’s worst road of 2014: Highway 24 at Leoville surpassed Highway 123 near Cumberland House, which made top of the list last year for the worst road in the province.
The third annual campaign to find the worst roads received a record 4,651 votes this year between April 1-25.
The information is sent to Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure to address those roads in dire need of attention because they pose troublesome and even dangerous road conditions.
To qualify for worst status, a road needs to be overrun with potholes and rutting; have poor signage or pose a safety hazard to motorists.
