Richardson International Ltd. has bought all of CHS Canada’s 10 retail crop input locations in Western Canada.
The transaction is expected to close in November. The value of the deal was not released.
The deal marks the exit of CHS, an American farmer-owned co-operative, as an owner of branded retail outlets in Western Canada.
Richardson will acquire nine crop inputs locations in Alberta — Alix, Beiseker, Bow Island, Carseland, Craddock, Lacombe, Rolling Hills, Standard and Vauxhall — and one in Edenwold, Sask..
All 10 locations are full-service crop input retailers, providing producers with chemical, fertilizer and seed services.
The Richardson Pioneer network continues to expand across Western Canada through acquisitions and new builds.
In August, Richardson acquired two independent, full-service retail crop input centres in Alberta at Vermilion and Forestburg.
Richardson also opened a new crop input centre in Elrose, Sask. last summer and will open a location in Pasqua, Sask. in November.
