RBC Beef Supreme champions

REGINA, Sask. – Black was beautiful at the grand finale RBC Beef Supreme championship at Canadian Western Agribition in Regina, Sask.

Held Nov. 29, the supreme champion bull was the entry of Gary and Richard Latimer of Olds, Alta. Remitall F Prospector 110Z is a well muscled, black Angus bull which the family sold the night before for $62,000 to Clint Smith of Breed Creek

Long time purebred breeders, the family has stood in the top 10 at the RBC Supreme championship but this was the first time they proceeded to the winner’s circle.

This bull was also grand champion black Angus bull at Agribition held Nov. 24-29 and was supreme champion bull at Northlands Farmfair in Edmonton at the beginning of November.

The supreme female came from Garth and Angela Rancier of Killam, Alta. with a black Simmental named RF Certainly Flirtin 220Z

They too have made the top 10 but never won this particular honour before. The 2012 cow is from a family called “Flirtin” and is heading back the to Rancier place to be part of the breeding herd.

Each family won $10,000 plus other prizes in the 16th annual Supreme challenge.
