OTTAWA – Exporters of poultry genetics will soon regain access to Mexico.Those markets have been closed since a March 2004 outbreak of avian influenza. Under the new agreement, Canadian industry estimates that Canadian exports of day-old chicks, turkey poults and hatching eggs to Mexico could reach $2 million annually.In 2009, Canadian agriculture and food exports to Mexico were $1.5 billion.
