A type of potato chip is the subject of a recall on suspicion of salmonella contamination.
The Deep River brand of Krinkle Cut Sour Cream and Onion Kettle Cooked Potato Chips were distributed in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and possibly nationally, according to a Canadian Food Inspection Agency notice.
There have been no reported illnesses connected to the recall, which the CFIA said was triggered by a recall in another country.
The chips in question are the 57 gram and 142 gram sizes with best before dates of Sept. 11, 2016, to Jan. 6 and Feb. 6, 2017.
The snacks should be thrown out or returned to place of purchase, the CFIA said.
Food contaminated with salmonella may look and smell fine but can still cause illness. Symptoms include fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
