A new organization to help connect consumers with food and farming will launch next month.

Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan (FFC SK) will represent producers in the livestock, poultry, crop and horticulture sectors.

Joe Kleinsasser, interim board chair of FFC SK, said the organization will work with agricultural partners, the Saskatchewan agriculture ministry, chefs, and associated businesses.

“All those who are passionate about food and farming in Saskatchewan,” he said.

Adele Buettner, who helped establish the new organization, said building trust and confidence in food production is a top priority for the organization.

“Our farmers and ranchers provide an abundance of healthy, safe and responsibly-produced food. Together we can help consumers make the connection between what we farm and what they eat.”

FFC will host an industry conference from Dec. 10-11 in Saskatoon.

The two-day event will feature a skill-building workshop with Mike Klein on making the best of digital tools. Other speakers include Rob Saik, who will discuss topics such as non-science and food paranoia.
