SOUTHWEST

Precipitation varied from 10 to 20 millimetres.

Cereal harvest is about 70 percent complete, and 30 percent of canola finished.

Second cut hay is underway with average conditions.

NORTHWEST

Rainfall varied from 17 to 50 mm and kept harvest progress minimal.

Most canola is swathed, and some straight combining has occurred.

Late seeded cereals have been chopped for silage.

CENTRAL

Rain accumulations were 10 mm or less and harvest progress has been slow to moderate depending on local conditions.

Farm cash receipts rise in first half of 2025 on livestock gains

Farm cash receipts in the first half of the year were up 3.3 per cent over the same period last year buoyed by livestock receipts. Overall receipts between January and June totalled $49.6 billion, up $1.6 billion from the same period last year, Statistics Canada reported.

Harvest is estimated to be 60 to 75 percent complete.

Fusarium-damaged kernels have been an issue in spring wheat, fall rye and barley.

Most corn is in the R5 stage, and soybeans are R7 to R8.

EASTERN

Precipitation varied from five to 30 mm, and field operations have been delayed by moisture.

Harvest of spring wheat is 90 percent complete, canola is about 65 percent complete, soybeans are at the R7 stage, sunflowers R8 and R9 and corn R5.

Winter feed supplies are rated 20 percent surplus and 80 percent adequate for hay and 100 percent adequate for straw, greenfeed and feed grain.

INTERLAKE

Rainfall ranged from five to 20 mm and delayed harvest, which is about half complete.

Alfalfa seed fields continue to be desiccated or swathed as plants reach maturity.

Greenfeed and alfalfa-grass stands continue to be ensiled.
