Cargill Meat Solutions has issued a recall on several types of ground beef sold in western Canadian Walmart stores due to possible contamination with E. coli.
There have been no reports of illness from anyone consuming the meat, which was distributed through Walmarts in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
The Your Fresh Market brand of extra lean ground beef sirloin, extra lean ground beef, medium ground beef and lean ground beef, all bearing a best before date of Nov. 28, is being voluntarily recalled by the processor due to recent test results, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The federal agency advises consumers who have purchased these particular products to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
The CFIA said in a news release that it is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to the recall of other products.
Food contaminated with E. coli O157 may not look or smell spoiled but can still cause illness, including nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps and watery to bloody diarrhea.
