FCC director appointed

Brenda Schoepp a Rimbey, Alta. rancher, has been appointed a Farm Credit Canada director.

Agriculture minister Gerry Ritz announced the appointment Feb. 12. He said her “strong commitment to youth and entrepreneurship in agriculture” are key credentials.

Her three-year term started with the announcement.

According to the biography issued by Ritz’s office, Schoepp has spent 34 years in agriculture and agribusiness as a partner in a cow-calf and horse rescue ranch.

She is an author, consultant and public speaker and has developed a program for youth and new entrants interested in a career in agriculture.

She also is developing a mentorship program for women in agriculture.
