Producers who pay their wheat and barley checkoffs through the Western Grains Research Foundation can claim 83 percent of their wheat checkoffs and 76 percent of their barley checkoffs.
Individual farmers can then claim 20 percent of that amount, while corporate producers can claim 35 percent.
Barley producers in Alberta pay their checkoffs through the Alberta Barley Commission and are subject to a 23 percent tax credit rate.
