Farm company office lost to fire

Fire destroyed the offices of Butte Grain Merchants in Picture Butte, Alta., Feb.24.

It broke out at the end of the day and destroyed all of the office’s contents, said company spokesperson Roxanne Adams. Employees have moved to temporary offices in Picture Butte and are attempting to recover office files.

Staff was still working in the office when the fire broke out, but everyone left safely.

Local RCMP and the fire inspector are investigating.

Butte Grain Merchants Ltd. comprises two feedlots, farmland, a commercial trucking company and cattle brokerage for buying and selling cattle.
