Durum port prices remain under extreme pressure

The latest Agriculture Canada weekly price summary, also said spring wheat was mostly steady and canola edged higer.

As of May 8 the West Coast price for No. 1 durum 13 percent protein was $441.65, down $18.53 and the St. Lawrence 12 percent protein price fell to $398.55, down $24.19.

Compared to the same point last month, West Coast durum is down $87.30 a tonne.

In the past month the Prairie durum cash price has fallen about $21.30 a tonne according to other price sources.

According to the website PDQinfo.ca, Prairie durum bids are ranging from about $270 to $315 per tonne.

The West Coast price for No. 1 CW hard red wheat 13.5 percent protein was $291.66 per tonne, up $2.65 a tonne from where it was the week before. The St. Lawrence price for the same grade was $280.20, down $3.15.

The PDQinfo.ca site says CWRS wheat on the Prairies ranges from $184 to $207.35 a tonne

Canola at the West Coast was $487.26, up $4.18.

PDQInfo.ca reports canola ranges from $406.86 to $443.11 across the Prairies.
