The Canadian Wheat Board raised its Pool Return Outlook for feed barley today by $15 per tonne or 33 cents per bushel.

In a mid month update, the CWB said the PRO for No. 1 CW feed barley in Pool A is now $224 per tonne at port, up from $209 in August.

The CWB said international barley prices have been supported by the Russian ban on exports and Ukraine’s slow exports. European prices are well supported by strong internal feed market.

The board said as sales are made from the feed barley pool, grain will be sourced mainly through company-specific Guaranteed Delivery Contracts with 100 percent early payment option.

Future price movement will be influenced by the timing and quantity of barley demand before the Australian crop harvest.
