The Canadian Agri-Business Education Foundation is awarding six $2,500 scholarships annually for Grade 12 students pursuing a post secondary agricultural diploma or degree.

The purposes of the scholarships are to encourage students to enroll in agriculture schools across Canada and fill jobs available in the agri-food sector.

The scholarships will be awarded in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec with one additional scholarship available for students in other provinces or territories.

Applicants must write an essay about “why they are pursuing a career in agriculture.” Academic standing and past and current leadership attributes will also be considered.

The scholarship program, as well as the foundation, will be launched tomorrow at the Best of CAMA, the Canadian Agri-Marketing Association’s annual awards in Quebec City.
