Buhler Industries Inc. of Winnipeg has bought the assets of Feterl Manufacturing Corp. of Salem, S. D.

The company, which makes grain handling equipment such as conventional and swing-away augers, drive-over hoppers and grain cleaners, filed for bankruptcy early last year. It had been in business for 50 years.

Buhler Industries said in a news release the acquisition will allow it to expand its line of Farm King grain handling equipment and increase auger manufacturing capacity.

The purchase includes a 145,000-square-foot manufacturing plant, land, equipment, tooling, inventory, patents and trademarks. Buhler was assisted by a low interest loan provided by the South Dakota Economic Development Corp.
