Brandt Group of companies announced earlier this week that it will donate more than $3 million through its Thanks a Billion program.
The company will make the donations before the end of next year.
To kick start the new initiative, Brandt presented $100,000 to United Way and $50,000 to Children’s Wish Foundation.
The donation campaign has been established to mark the company reaching $1 billion in annual sales.
“We owe it all to a great team of employees and loyal customers,” Brandt chair Gavin Semple said in a news release.
“We couldn’t have done it without them.”
He said few companies achieve $1 billion in annual revenue and fewer give it back.
The Brandt Group was founded more than 75 years ago and employs 1,300 people in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia and Asia.
