More than 90 percent of Canadians have no connection with agriculture even though everyone eats food every day.
Karin Schmid wants to dispel some of the myths and answer some of the questions that consumers may have about beef by producing a series of information brochures,
Schmid, the beef production specialist at Alberta Beef Producers, is working on the brochures with the Beef Cattle Research Council.
The first brochure, called “Worried about hormones in beef?” should be ready by the end of the year.

Schmid also hopes other provincial beef organizations join Alberta so that they can share resources to produce more brochures and distribute them across the country.
