Pat Pimm of Ft. St. John, B.C., is the province’s new agriculture minister.
Pimm replaces Norm Letnick who is now parliamentary secretary to the premier for intergovernmental affairs in the recent cabinet shuffle that followed the Liberal government’s re-election in May.
Pimm, who was sworn in during a ceremony June 10, was first elected as a Liberal MLA for Peace River North in 2009 and has sat on the aboriginal affairs and finances and Government services committees.
Pimm was a councillor for the City of Fort St. John for 12 years before he was elected to the legislature.
He has experience in the oil and gas and construction industry in British Columbia’s northeast.
He is president of Alpha Controls, a company that provides construction, maintenance and electrical services.
