Only serious inquiries will be considered for the sale of the Bar-N Ghost Pine Ranch listed for a record $54 million.
Located in the Municipal District of Willow Creek in southern Alberta, the 14,740 acres working ranch is owned by oil and gas executive Greg Noval. He bought the property in 1992 and hopes to have it sold by the end of the year, said realtor Renata Reid of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada.
The Calgary-based company is handling the property sale, which includes six residential homes including a luxury 5,230 sq. foot ranch house with 12 bedrooms.
About 9,000 acres are deeded and the remainder is Crown lease land.
Outbuildings include a horse barn, Quonset, and calving sheds. Included in the deal are 800 commercial cows and 36 bulls.
“To have a congruous property that big is very, very rare,” Reid said.
Interest has come from Albertans, people in the United States, Europe and Asia.
“It is definitely a very interesting site for them to hold and a great opportunity,” she said.
There is interest from people in the fast food business looking to grow their own beef, recreationists and investors. There is no stipulation the property remain a working ranch, she said.
“It is agriculture general and you would have to keep it in the guidelines of what can be done with that land based on the M.D. of Willow Creek.”
