Canada will export less durum and field peas in 2018/19 than earlier forecast, according to updated supply/demand tables from Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, released on Nov. 15, 2018. The tables only included minor or no adjustments from the previous month for most crops.

Agriculture Canada’s market analysis branch now forecasts durum exports during the marketing year at 4.300 million tonnes, which would be in line with 4.387 million tonnes exported in 2017/18, but below the October estimate of 4.600 million. Projected pea exports for 2018/19 were lowered by 200,000 tonnes, to 2.600 million. That compares with the 3.086 million tonnes of peas exported the previous crop year.
