92 Hereford bulls sold for $4,917 at Calgary sale

The unofficial sale results for the Calgary Bull Sale were $4,917 on 92 Hereford bulls.

The 114th annual event was  held March 6  with smaller than usual entries from Alberta Hereford and Angus breeders. Angus results were not available.

The grand champion Angus bull was from Lorenz Angus Farm at Markerville. It sold for  $4,200 to Uplands Ranch of Bindloss. Remitall West of Olds had the reserve champion, and it sold for $3,600 to Prairie Creek Meadow Ranch.

The grand champion Hereford was from Bar Pipe Ranch at Okotoks and sold for $8,250. The reserve was from Lilybrook Herefords Inc. of Claresholm.

The high selling bull was a Hereford from Ken Rutledge of Hardisty. The bull sold for $19,000 to Dallas Herefords of Bowden and Conway Herefords of Foremost.

The grand champion pen of replacement commercial heifers was the entry of Sheldon and Shannon Archibald of Irma.
