Findoor, a European door producer, has had great success for more than 30 years in Europe with its unique and simple design.

Findoor makes large opening doors that seal on all four sides, have no pinch points and open and close without springs, cables or drums. The doors are custom built for the opening, up to 50-feet wide and 35-feet tall.

“They’ve never really had alternatives to slider doors,” said Boyd Waldner, Findoor director of sales in North America. “So, this is a great replacement for people that don’t want to give up the headroom.”

Going beyond “Resistant” on crop seed labels

Variety resistance is getting more specific on crop disease pathogens, but that information must be conveyed in a way that actually helps producers make rotation decisions.

Each door hinges from the side of the door, rather than the top, maximizing head room and allowing the owner to open individual sections of the door at a time.

There is no weather-stripping wear at the bottom either because the hinges lift the door three-quarters of an inch for easy opening.

The doors are similar to that of a classic-style closet door in how they open, however pinch points are non-existent because of the rubber used between folding sections to air-tight seal cracks.

Waldner would even close the door with his hand in between the closing area their booth in Canada’s Farm Show to demonstrate the effectiveness of the rubber seal preventing injuries.

“There’s no safety concerns with this,” said Waldner, “You don’t have to worry about the door falling down, the spring breaking and crashing to the ground.”

Because each door is tailored to the customer, they are able to place windows and walk-in doors on any panel. Each panel is given a serial number and stored in the database so a replacement can be quickly made and shipped.

Findoor’s warehouse and factory is located in Westeros, 45-minutes west of Wetaskewin, Alta.

“Our lead times are incredibly low,” said Waldner, “We’re 10 weeks from time of deposit paid to where it’ll be leaving our factory, so we’re leading the industry in that as well.”

Waldner said they plan to expand across North America after having resounding success across Western Canada.
