Initial payment increase recommended
The CWB has recommended to the federal government an increase to the 2009-10 initial payments for wheat. It recommends an increase of $5 to $45 per tonne for wheat, depending on grade and protein level. The approvals process typically takes six to eight weeks.
Malting barley payment rises
Initial payments for designated barley have increased by $26.50 per tonne. The Canadian Wheat Board said the federal government had approved the increase, which took effect March 18.
