Sask. pays for land cleanup

A $150,000 appropriation in the Saskatchewan agriculture budget this year will pay to clean up a contaminated crown lease site. Rain moves into Manitoba

The slow moving rain system that flooded several Saskatchewan communities and farmland has moved into Manitoba. Environment Canada reported 52 millimetres at Emerson yesterday, 46 mm at Morris and 42 mm at Letellier. Winnipeg reported 30 mm, while Morden received 28.5 mm and the Pas 23 mm. RCMP on lookout for stolen pigs

Saskatchewan RCMP is asking public help after 23 pigs were stolen from Big Sky Farms. The pure white pigs were taken between midnight and 6 a.m. Aug. 26 from the barn at Kelvington. Anyone with information should contact the Rose Valley/Kelvington detachment at 306-322-2550 or call Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.


Second Sask. farm loses cattle to anthrax

Another case of anthrax in cattle was confirmed Sept. 2 in the Saskatchewan Rural Municipality of Fillmore. It is the second farm in the RM to lose cattle to the soil-borne disease.
