RCMP warn of GPS unit thefts from farms

RCMP are reminding farmers to document serial numbers of devices such as GPS units after several were stolen from tractors in southwestern Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan farmers are generally nearing the end of 2013 spring seeding operations. Saskatchewan agriculture estimated June 3 that 83 percent of the crop is in. The five-year average is 82 percent. Saskatchewan’s short-line railway sustainability program will pay $900,000 in grants to 13 short lines this year, up $200,000 from last year.
