Published: February 12, 2026

Radar is clear this morning across Western Canada as a high pressure ridge dominates the region. Precipitation over the next five days is expected to be light with amounts mostly less than 2 mm of water equivalent precipitation. A band of heavier precipitation (5 mm) is expected close to the U.S. border in southeastern Saskatchewan and southwestern Manitoba.

Temperatures are mild across the Prairies this morning with overnight lows mostly in the -5 to -10C range. The exception is southern Alberta which was above the freezing mark. Highs today will range from the low teens in southern Alberta to the low to mid single digits in eastern growing regions. Temperatures will cool into the low single digits on the weekend across Western Canada. The mild weather continues into the middle of next week, before a transition back to winter like weather begins.

AM Market Report – April 9, 2026

GOOD MORNING…HERE IS YOUR MORNING MARKET NEWS OVERNIGHT GRAIN TRADE Grain markets are in the green to start this morning….

The long-term forecast continues to indicate a change from the current weather pattern with troughing on the west coast pulling cooler than normal weather in the Prairies during the last week of February. The positive news is that the storm track will move into the southern Prairies/northern U.S. during the period. This should bring much needed moisture to southern Alberta and southwestern Saskatchewan starting late next week. The cooler than normal temperatures will bring the Prairies back to reality after an extended period of mild weather.
