Temperatures are expected to be mild today with highs mostly in the mid to upper teens across the Prairies. The mild weather will continue tomorrow and Saturday, before a strong cold front brings much cooler temperatures on Sunday. Temperatures will dip to the mid to upper single digits across the Prairies on Sunday and will persist through early next week. Long term average temperatures for this time of year are mostly range from 10 to 12C.

The long term forecast calls for temperatures to remain near normal through the end of October. The problem is that average temperatures drop significantly from mid-October to early November when daily highs are supposed to struggle to reach the freezing mark. The storm track over the next two weeks will remain mostly in the U.S. with minimal moisture pushing into the Prairies.
