HOG PRICES EDGE LOWER
U.S. hog prices had a weak tone as pork demand and prices drifted lower.
Pork belly stocks rose at a time when they should be falling.
Iowa-southern Minnesota cash hogs delivered to plants were fairly steady at $67 US per hundredweight June 3, little changed from $67.50 May 27.
U.S. pork carcass cut-out value fell to $89.77 June 3 from $90.04 May 29.
The U.S. federal slaughter estimate was 1.746 million head in a Memorial Day shortened week, compared to 2.03 million head the previous week.

BISON STEADY
The Canadian Bison Association said grade A bulls in the desirable weight range were $3.90-$4.10 Cdn per pound hot hanging weight. Grade A heifers were $3.85-$4.
Animals older than 30 months and those outside the desirable weight range may be discounted.
Slaughter cows and bulls averaged $2.75.
LAMB PRICE WEAKENS
Beaver Hill Auction in Tofield, Alta., reported that 688 sheep and 267 goats sold May 30.
Wool lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $200-$225 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $192-$214, 86-105 lb. were $186- $205 and 106 lb. and heavier were $180-$203.
Wool rams were $56-$70 per cwt. Cull ewes were $52-$68.
Hair lambs lighter than 70 lb. were $190-$225 per cwt., 70-85 lb. were $180-$200, 86-105 lb. were $178- $196 and 106 lb. and heavier were $168-$184.
Hair rams were $60-$70 per cwt. Cull ewes were $60-$70.
Good kid goats lighter than 50 lb. were $160-$242.50. Those heavier than 50 lb. were $180-$242.50 per cwt. Nannies were $70-$84 per cwt. Billies were $100-$140.
Ontario Stockyards Inc. reported 1,822 sheep and lambs and 210 goats traded May 30. Lambs closed $10 to $15 per cwt. lower. Sheep sold barely steady to $5 cwt lower. Well finished goats sold steady.
