Calgary Bull Sale results

Once again Belvin Angus of Innisfail, Alta. had the grand champion bull at the 111th Calgary Bull Sale.

Bred and owned by Colton Hamilton, a partner in the family operation, the winning bull sold for $14,000 to Alta Genetics.

This is the seventh time the family has won the honour since 2003.

The reserve grand champion Angus came from Scott Stock Farm at Crossfield, Alta. It sold for $5,000.

The grand champion Hereford was entered by Jennifer Jenkins of Jenkins Ranche at Twin Butte, Alta.

This is the first time an animal from the 120-year-old Hereford ranch has won grand champion. The bull sold for $6,000.

The reserve grand champion Hereford came from Brad Dallas of Bowden, Alta. It sold to a North Dakota buyer for $6,700.

The top seller of the day came from the Schuepbach Family of Lilybrook Herefords at Claresholm, Alta.

It sold for $21,000 to Upstream Ranch, Nebraska.
