A seven-year-old Holstein cow was crowned Canadian champion for 2010.

Rustowil Stormy Stavros, born Dec., 19, 2003, is owned by Mark Moreland and bred by William Moreland. Both are from Joyceville, Ont.

Holstein Canada said a Canadian champion must surpass the previous all-time highest performance for milk, fat, protein, or total breed class average in its category based on age at calving.

If more than one animal in a year exceeds the previous highest level, only the top individual will be recognized as the new Canadian champion.
