Farm Credit Canada’s annual Drive Away Hunger program collected 1,773, 688 pounds of food for Canadian food banks this year.
Tractor tours were held in Alberta, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Quebec and Saskatchewan from Oct. 12-15.
The FCC also received donations of food and money at its offices.
“The FCC Drive Away Hunger program raises much needed public awareness of hunger and brings communities together in support of this cause,” said executive director Katharine Schmidt in a news release.
The FCC program has donated more than five million pounds of food to food banks since 2004.
