The wheat, durum and malting barley price forecast for 2010-11 fell in the latest Pool Return Outlook from the Canadian Wheat Board.

Wheat values are down by $10 to $14 per tonne from February while durum values are also $10 to $14 lower, malting barley is down $8 and feed barley down $7.

Large global cereal stocks continue to weigh on grain prices. The U.S. winter wheat crop has come out of dormancy in good shape. Seeded area of spring wheat and durum is expected to decline but not enough to offset the large stocks that will be carried into 2010-11.

The strong Canadian dollar, which is close to par with the U.S. dollar, also weighs against the PRO.

The CWB also released a PRO for the old crop, 209-10 crop year.

In it, wheat values are down $4 to $6 per tonne, durum is down $6, malting barley is down $2 and feed barley is down $7.
