Initial payments for designated barley have increased by $26.50 per tonne.
The Canadian Wheat Board said the federal government had approved the increase, which took effect March 18. The payment applies to all grades and classes.
The adjustment will raise Select two-row barley to $186.50 per tonne at port and Select six-row to $166.50.
The adjustment payment will be deposited March 30 for grain already delivered. Cheques will be mailed before April 9.
