Phil Fontaine, former national chief of the Assembly of First Nations, will join the board of directors of One Earth Farms Corp.One Earth, a subsidiary of Toronto-based Sprott Resource Corp., was formed last spring to manage farmland on reserves and develop farming skills among aboriginal people.With an investment of $27.5 million, its intention is to initially have 50,000 acres under lease, moving eventually to one million acres.As national chief, Fontaine advocated for greater engagement by the business community with First Nations people.”The success we have achieved to date working with First Nations in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta can only be enhanced by the addition of chief Fontaine to our board,” said One Earth Farms president Larry Ruud.
