Gardiner Dam Terminal is expanding its rail capacity.
The inland terminal at Strongfield, Sask., has bought 4.8 kilometres of Canadian Pacific track to extend its siding to accommodate loading 112 car trains.
GDT will also buy a locomotive for switching rail cars. The company plans to complete work on the new siding by September.
GDT is a joint venture of Gardener Dam Terminal Ltd. and Viterra Inc.
