- Rain in previous weeks aided crop development in the south-central areas. Conditions drier near Moosomin.
- Cereals average or better than average. Delayed about two weeks.
- Oilseeds better than average, canola bolting and flowering.
- Pulse crops good to better than average.
West-central
- Rain in some areas aiding crops.
- Eastern areas better than western border regions where some crops have failed.
- Three quarters of cereal in below average condition.
- 80 percent of canola in fair or worse condition. Weed control in sparse crops becoming an issue.
- 75 percent of pulses fair or worse.
East-central
- Crops in good to fair condition.
- Topsoil moisture remains adequate in most areas.
- Forages late and average to below average in yield.
- Cereals in good to better condition. Early crops starting to head.
- Oilseeds fair to good. Canola flowering.
- Pulse crops good to better than average.
- Wheat midge emerging with threats of threshold levels north of Yorkton and near Watrous.
Northwest
- Despite recent rain in some areas, canola is mainly fair to poor.
- Haying started, with less than average yields.
Northeast
- Half of spring crops in good condition and half rated as fair but slow in development.
- Canola is average and bolting. Peas were 62 good, 33 percent fair. Lentils were 30 percent good, 57 percent fair and 12 percent poor.
- Topsoil moisture good.
- Hay and pastureland topsoil moisture average.
- Wheat midge threats in the Prince Albert and Rosthern area.
Manitoba
Southwest
- Scattered showers of up to 30 mm.
- Earliest spring cereals starting to head.
- Haying started, yields reported as less than average. Pastures also in less than average condition, despite adequate moisture in most areas.
- Canola bolting with early crops flowering, generally in good condition but late.

- Large grasshopper hatch reported at Melita.
Southeast and Red River Valley
- Dry weather has aided crop development. Limited flooding in some areas of the south-central part of the province.
- Early-seeded canola bolting and flowering. Cereals are starting to head in some cases. Soybeans at third trifoliate. Crop staging is variable.
- Cutworms reported. Midge emerging near Emerson.
- High grasshopper populations near Portage la Prairie.
Central and Interlake
- Hot and dry conditions aided crop development.
- Some greenfeed planting underway in wet soils.
- Haying in northeast Interlake stopped in saturated soils.
- In the southern part of the region, early-seeded canola crops bolting. Soybeans advancing rapidly, in third trifoliate.
- Cereals starting to head.
- Pastures are generally good, but delayed.
- Haying underway with average yields.
Northwest
- Cereal crops are starting to head. Canola bolting.
- Winter wheat crops receiving fungicide.
- Hay crop yields poor. Most pastures late and in fair condition.
- Wheat midge expected in this area soon. Higher risk areas south of Russell.
