The venerable Ford 8N was, and remains, a little workhorse of a tractor. Introduced in 1947 to replace the successful 9N, the 8N is now being rereleased.

A modern 8N will be for sale on New Holland dealer lots 62 years after it first chugged onto the farms of North America.

While it looks like its namesake, the New Holland Boomer 8N is all modern tractor. With a continuously variable transmission, the 50 horsepower diesel, four-wheel drive machine is no Ford 8N from bygone days. The absence of a clutch pedal, and the addition of power steering, tilt and telescoping steering wheel and a cup holder are things not dreamed of in 1947.

A 2,800 pound lift on the three point hitch and 40 h.p. power take-off round out the machine’s utility.
