Large increases to Canadian Wheat Board initial payments have been approved by the federal government, effective Feb. 21.
Adjustment payments for grain already delivered will be direct deposited March 4 or mailed by March 7.
Increases for wheat range from $41.60 to $51.60 per tonne, depending on grade, class and protein level.
For milling durum, the range is $80.50 to $96.50 and for designated barley the increase ranges from $10 to $13.
The initial for No. 1 Canadian Western red spring wheat 13.5 percent protein climbs $41.60 per tonne, raising the total so far to $272.10.
The payment for No. 1 durum 12.5 percent protein jumps $85 a tonne to $399.50.
Special Select CW two-row designated barley climbs $10 to $270 while six-row barley climbs $13 to $244.
The hard red spring wheat initial stands at 76 percent of the pool return outlook that in January was $356 per tonne at Vancouver.
The durum initial is 80 percent of the January PRO of $495.
