Three women were inducted into the Saskatchewan 4-H Council’s hall of fame March 24. Honoured were Marlene Tymiak of Kelliher, Elaine Brown of Turtleford and Ellen Oddan of Maidstone.
Brown served as assistant leader to the Mervin Beef 4-H Club and for several years she volunteered as project and general leader for the Turtle River Multiple 4-H Club.
She served as a district leader delegate to the regional and provincial 4-H councils.
She was secretary for her district council for 25 years and served as secretary for the provincial council for 10 years.

Brown also attended the National 4-H Volunteer Leaders’ Conference in Toronto in 1985.
Tymiak became a 4-H leader for her club in 1974. She served as a project leader, assistant general leader and general leader throughout the years, teaching a variety of projects.
She celebrated her 25 year leadership award in 2006. She has served as district vice-president, president and district representative to Saskatchewan 4-H’s annual general meeting. At a provincial level, she served on the curling and public speaking committees both times her region hosted.
She has been on several 4-H trips and has also been on the Saskatchewan 4-H Council’s board of directors for 10 years, including three years as secretary.
Oddan became a 4-H leader in the Maidstone Gully Multiple 4-H Club in 1977. At a district level, she served on the executive as president for two years and is the treasurer.
For 10 years, Oddan has assisted with the 4-H judging and grooming clinic, where she has also provided stock and judging lessons.
She served on the 4-H regional council for 11 years, acting as president for three of those.
At a provincial level, she has been a district leader representative to council and 2007 marks her 30th year as a 4-H leader.
