New exhibition officials
Four directors of the Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba retired and four new directors were selected at the organization’s Jan. 24 meeting in Brandon.
Don Green, Ron Kille, Todd Wallace and Barb Tousignant retired.
Kathy Cleaver, Mike Kreller, Shauna Leckie and Darla McGill joined the executive.
The exhibition also announced that director Kevin Cameron received the Jim Fogel Award for outstanding volunteer work.
Cameron has been involved with the exhibition for more than 20 years. He also serves as co-chair of the Manitoba Summer Fair.

Albertan on U.S. board
Lloyd Snelgrove, Alberta MLA for Vermilion-Lloydminster and chair of the agriculture and municipal affairs policy committee, has been elected by state legislators to the U.S-based State Agriculture and Rural Leaders Inc. board.
The new board will help to promote priority issues as determined at the annual U.S. State Legislative Agriculture Chairs Summit, held each January.
Snelgrove will meet with U.S. state legislators and discuss agricultural issues that affect Canadian producers.
He is the first Canadian provincial representative on the board. His term will last two years.
Snelgrove’s primary role on the board will be to co-ordinate and communicate with all provinces about issues related to the annual summit and board activities.
Oat growers officials
Manitoba farmer Bill Wilton is the new president of the Prairie Oat Growers Association. Wilton, from Ile de Chenes , Man., served as POGA chair last year. He will replace past-president Al Loyns of Winnipeg.
Willie Zuchkan, a mixed grain and livestock operator from Foam Lake, Sask., was named vice-president.
Lorne Floyd of Arborg, Man., was named Manitoba vice-president and Richard Pedde of Indian Head, Sask., was named Saskatchewan vice-president.
Gordon Trenholm of Oak Bank, Man., was elected Manitoba director.
POGA is a volunteer farmer organization representing oat producers in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and
Alberta.
