Parts source publication
The Alberta Farmers’ Advocate office has recently updated the Obsolete or Hard to Locate Repair/Replacement Parts Source publication. The information was compiled by the Alberta Farm Implement Act Administration.
Free copies can be obtained through the Farmers’ Advocate Office at: Farm Implement Act Administration, room 305, 7000 113 St. Edmonton, Alta., T6H 5T6.
The information is also available on the Alberta Agriculture website, www.agric.gov.ab.ca.
Feedlot guide
A new edition of the Alberta Feedlot Management Guide is available with 33 new fact sheets and 44 updates to existing fact sheets.

The CD ROM has searchable access to all the fact sheets and allows users to directly access websites listed in the guide if the user is linked to the internet.
The binder version has almost 1,000 pages and 100 color pictures. The CD ROM version costs $49 and the binder version $139.

Skid steer mixer
Worksaver has a new welded steel drum mixer for its skid steers.
The mixer with internal paddles is designed for mixing jobs such as feed, cement, fertilizer, inoculating seed and potting soil. It has a five cubic foot capacity.
It fits the skid steers with a universal attachment system.
The hydraulic motor is low maintenance. A flow control valve allows the speed to be controlled while a lever engages the drum.
A No. 50 roller chain drives the mixing drum.

Portable hammer mill
Automatic Equipment has a new portable hammer mill.
There are two models: the ATH2000B has a blower discharge and the ATH2000A is an auger discharge unit.
A 1,000 r.p.m. power take-off
drives the mills. Both contain twin 21-inch hammer mills with 66 alloy steel hammers.
Standard equipment includes 3Ú16 inch screens that cover 600 sq. inches. Optional screens range from 3Ú32 to two inches. The mills are fed from a 10-inch intake auger. After grinding, the feed is augured out the back to either a 12-inch vertical auger or a 40-inch blower.
