New ATVs
Bombardier has added new sport utility and mini all-terrain vehicles to its line of ATVs, which already includes the Traxter line of heavy-duty units for farm work.
The Traxter is all-wheel drive with a 498 cc in-line, four-stroke Rotax engine. It is liquid-cooled and the radiator is mounted on the rear to lower risk of damage. The Visco-Lok traction system constantly monitors speed and adjusts torque to keep the front wheels from spinning, while minimizing steering effort.
There is a choice of automatic or foot shift transmission. The sub-transmission allows the rider to engage high or low range, neutral and reverse as well as a park position to lock the power train.

Mower conditioner
Hesston has a new mid-size centre-pivot mower conditioner. The 3.7 metre Hesston 1345 pull-type mower has three crimp rollers for a variety of crops and conditions, a turbulence reduction roll for better performance and a novel swivel hitch option.
Cutting is handled by eight counter-rotating disks with two swing-away reversible knives per disk. Cutting height can be as low as 32 millimetres.
The standard conditioner rolls are Hesston’s rubber-on-steel, fully engaged intermeshing 2.5 metre rolls, designed to crimp rather than crush.
The optional swivel hitch allows for 90-degree turns. It attaches directly to the drawbar, not the three-point hitch.

Small tractor line
John Deere’s new 6020 series of smaller tractors is powered by the company’s low-emission, four-cylinder, 4.5 litre PowerTech engines with power take-off horsepower ratings from 65 to 90. There are three transmission options and all have the PermaClutch 2 with three large diameter clutch discs for optimum modulation and smooth operation. The clutch is oil-cooled for tough applications such as loader and blade work.
Standard on the 6120 and 6320 models is a 540 rpm pto. The optional 540-1,000 rpm pto is also available and is standard on the 6420. All models have pressure and flow hydraulic with variable pressure from 405 to 2,900 pounds per square inch. Maximum hydraulic pressure is available only when needed to reduce the load on the engine.
The redesigned cab includes a one-piece front window.
