VIDEO: Green Lightning and Nytro Ag win sustainability innovation award

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

Trimble has improved its AgGPS TrimFlight 3 system for spray planes. The system allows crop sprayers to use global positioning system guidance for mapping and record keeping. It links Trimble’s differential GPS receiver with a light bar and field computer, running software designed for the aerial agriculture market.

Software highlights include a playback feature that allows review of the flight to ensure all areas were sprayed.

The automatic flow control enables a constant application rate of spray independent of the airplane speed. There is also the ability to give the pilot information about weather on the ground, including wind speed and direction, temperature, pressure and relative humidity. For more information, contact a Trimble dealer, write Box 3642, Sunnyvale, California, U.S.A. 94088-36420 or visit www.trimble.com.

Wireless electric fence

The Wireless Deer Fence uses mild electrical shocks to keep deer from yards and gardens.

It consists of a series of individual post-like devices that are placed in the yard where deer are likely to find them.

Each post contains a miniaturized charging circuit that maintains an electrical current across the bare wire electrodes.

Each post also has a reservoir containing a scented oil that attracts deer. Once they touch the post they are mildly shocked.

They then associate that smell with the shock and are afraid to return to the area with the scent.

The posts are powered by two AA batteries.

For more information about the wireless deer fence, write to Betzen Manufacturing, 7590 Shilo Rd., Unionville, Indiana, U.S.A., 47468, visit www.wirelessdeerfence.com or phone 812-333-5307.
