Heavy harrow

Brandt Industries has introduced the Contour Commander, a heavy harrow designed for use in direct seeding systems.

Heavy harrows are not a new idea, but Brandt says it has made innovations such as getting all tines to maintain even contact with the field, regardless of inclines or depressions.

The harrow’s parallel link and U-joint system allows each three-metre section of tines to move independently to adjust to field contours. This helps the unit to uniformly spread straw and chaff. The unit is designed to allow tight turns and backing up in the field position. Folded, the unit is about four metres wide.

Nytro Ag Corp and Green Lightning recieved an innovation award at Ag in Motion 2025 for the Green Lightning Nitrogen Machine, which converts atmospheric nitrogen into a plant-usable form.

There are two models, the 5000 with a 15.25-metre (50 foot) main boom and the 7000 with a 21.33 metre (70 foot) boom.

Chisel plow

Morris Industries has introduced its third generation chisel plow.

The Magnum III is designed for durability.

“We designed the Magnum III to work through the heaviest trash conditions without plugging,” said Bob Purton, director of research and development.

The unit uses a positive mechanical stop and hydraulic valves to manage depth control. Each cylinder can be set for accurate and repeatable depth control.

It has a four-row frame design with about 75 centimetres (30 inches) of ground clearance.

The trip system has features of a spring cushion and over-centre assemblies and does not require lubrication. The unit folds for transport.

For more information, see a Morris dealer or write Morris Industries at 2131 Airport Dr, Saskatoon, Sask., S7L 7E1. or phone 306-933-8585.

Insulated panel

Plasti-Fab has introduced its structural insulated panels to the agricultural market.

R-Control panels have rigid expanded polystyrene insulation adhesively welded between stranded lumber facings to form a structural panel designed not to twist or warp.

They come in four by eight foot and eight by 24 foot sizes. There are a range of thicknesses from 4.5 to 12.25 inches.

The panels fit on solid plating that is set in place on the floor slab or framed subfloor. They are put together with screws and adhesive.

The insulation or R-value is stable for the life of the structure and moisture does not affect the R-value.

Once the panels are up, the building is ready for framing, plumbing, heating and cooling work and drywall. Roofing and siding materials are conventionally applied to the outside face.

For more information phone 888-448-5377 or write Plasti-Fab at 270, 3015 Fifth Ave. N.E., Calgary Alta., T2A 6T8.
