Stanchion milking
The new Surge One Touch offers automatic, integrated management of primary milking functions and herd management.
The One Touch base model is a hand-held device that combines the milk line and pulsation system connections into a single unit. Further automation can be added with the new Timekeeper II management module which signals the producer when the cow is finished milking and displays the times it takes to milk on a cow-by-cow basis leading to faster, consistent milking.
The end-of-milking indicator is adjustable to suit the needs of individual dairies.

Air filtering masks
Respro manufactures a line of personal air filtration masks originally designed for urban athletes and asthmatics that also can be used by farmers and agricultural workers who handle pesticides, fertilizer or who work in dusty environments.
The lightweight masks are made of hypo-allergenic neoprene, which ensures a good fit and provides a physical barrier to contaminants like pollen and grain dust. Inside the mask, air is filtered by Dynamic Activated Charcoal Cloth, which consists of three layers of filtering material. The cloth was developed by the British defence industry for use in chemical and bacterial germ warfare. Two outer layers act as particle filters while the Dynamic ACC layer filters out gases and fumes.
Filters are replaceable as are the one-way exhalation valves. Respro sells the Sportsta, Respro 149 and two bandana masks called the Respro Bandit and the Skull Bandit.

Animal wound dressing
Derma-Flex from the Limetree Group is a transparent, spray-on dressing suitable for use on surgical wounds, as well as accidental scrapes, cuts and lacerations.
The antiseptic polymer-based dressing dries within a minute to form a seal over the skin, encouraging the wound to retain moisture and protect it against contamination.
As well as preventing superficial cuts and abrasions from becoming infected, the company claims the dressing also appears to encourage natural healing.
Follows contours
Derma-Flex follows body contours when it is sprayed on a wound and remains flexible when dry, making it useful when dressing injuries in areas such as joints and upper limbs.
Separate layers can be built up for additional protection.
It will slough off naturally as the wound heals or can be removed by soaking in warm water.
